Einen Haselnussstrauch wollte ich schon immer haben. Die Blätter sind prima geeignet, um es knallen zu lassen, wenn man richtig drauf schlägt (eine Technik, deren Geheimnis wir als Kinder gut gehütet haben). Und frische Haselnüsse sind natürlich auch angenehm. Nach alter Gewohnheit knacke ich die Nüsse noch mit den Zähnen, was manchmal zu Zahnfleischverletzungen führt und wenig angenehm ist, wenn in der Nuss eine Made sitzt.
Die letzten Jahre war der Ertrag eher bescheiden; inzwischen ist der Strauch gewachsen und trägt auch gut. Unsere Brandmaus wird allerdings wohl das meiste davon bekommen.
